MCC to Partner with Community College Humanities Association

MCC was selected by the Community College Humanities Association as one of five institutions to participate in a grant-funded project to develop and deliver summer humanities seminars to regional high school students. The seminar series will take place during the summer of 2020 and explore the theme, "What Does it Mean to be Human Today?" William Drumright, Associate Professor of History, and Joel Helfrich, Adjunct Associate Professor of History, will each lead one of the week-long seminars.

MCC was chosen for inclusion in the project, which is funded by the Teagle Foundation, based on its commitment to high quality education in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, as typified by its robust program offerings in these disciplines and its Institute for the Humanities.

Other participating colleges include Community College of Baltimore County in Baltimore, Maryland; Collin Community College in McKinney, Texas; San Diego Mesa College in San Diego, California; and Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan.
