A Hearty Donation

The third annual Third Floor of Building One Scone Bake-off raised $151 for the MCC Heart Walk Team.

Each year the bake-off proceeds support a worthy organization and this year's event, held earlier this week, went to the American Heart Association fundraiser walk. The many hearty Scones were tasty and varied, from a traditional Scottish recipe (compliments of Bill Wagoner) to ginger scones that had taken first place in a family competition (a Berni Duffy original).

In the end, Connie Herrera, marketing director, won with what she called an easy orange scone recipe. (I've promised never to devulge the secret ingredients.) Judges were Ann Perry, Diana Rayner and Sue Welch.
