Avalone and Frater present at SCUP 2019 Annual Conference

Valarie Avalone, Director of Institutional Planning, Effectiveness & Accountability, and Joel Frater, Executive Dean, Downtown Campus, recently co-presented at the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) 2019 Annual Conference in Seattle. Their presentation, The Strategic Plan as a Catalyst for Student Success, emphasized that a strategic plan establishes a direction for an institution to take, helping to sharpen its focus in order to yield the desired outcomes. Developing the right goals and strategies and establishing measures of accountability keep a broad cross-section of the institution fully engaged in efforts to meet them.

In addition, both Frater and Avalone served as proposal reviewers and as conveners of other sessions. Avalone also served as a lead instructor of a two-day training for SCUP's Planning Institute, Planning Institute Design: Developing and Implementing a Strategic Plan, and as an invited discussion leader on Accreditation Pressures.
