Women's Lax Nationals, Baseball Districts On Tap This Weekend


The MCC women’s lacrosse and baseball programs will host postseason tournaments on their home turf this weekend.

The Tribune women’s lacrosse team will participate in the NJCAA national championship on John L. DiMarco Field. The action begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, as Onondaga takes on Anne Arundel. Monroe then hits the field at 1:30 p.m. against Harford in the other semifinal. The national title game is Sunday at 1 p.m.  MCC is playing for its third national championship.

The Monroe baseball team will host the East District Tournament Saturday and Sunday. First pitch between MCC and Rockland is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday. Rockland and UConn-Avery Point then play at 1 p.m., followed by MCC and Avery Point at 4 p.m.

The tournament continues Sunday at 11 a.m., with a final game at 2 p.m., if necessary.

Tickets are $5 per day for the lacrosse tournament and admission is free with a valid MCC ID. There is no cost for baseball.

These are the last home athletic events at MCC this school year, so be sure to come out and support the Tribunes!
