2019 MCC United Way Campaign, March 4 - April 5

The 2019 Monroe Community College United Way campaign is March 4 - April 5. We hope that you will come out to the many events and celebrations that we are having to honor the United Way's 101st year of commitment to our community. Check your e-mail for your chance to make your pledge to the annual campaign. Contact Courtney Sprague or Ryan Messenger if you need assistance with how you can donate.

The 2019 United Way Campaign is about having a heart to heart with our community. The theme is a love letter that reads 'Dear Rochester.' It's a challenge to us all to have that hard conversation to inspire change, come together, and to make a difference.

The United Way's Community Fund supports several organizations that MCC routinely support MCC students, their families, and fellow employees. Just last year, it invested $13.4 million in partner programs that supported people across all walks of life and levels of need. It served 750 families on how to be their babies best teacher, helped 5,800 students succeed with after school, summer (including our very own MCC Horizons Summer Program) and mentoring programs, provided 36,000 people in need with the basics of food, clothing and shelter, and gave 21,000 elders and their caregivers the resources they need to remain vital and independent.

Our campaign begins today with a kick-off event, 12 - 1 pm in the Empire Room at the Brighton Campus and with an information at the Downtown Campus at the Student Needs Fair. Please join us to learn more about how the United Way helps your community and how you might help MCC contribute. Light refreshments will be served.

What do you want to say to Rochester? It takes all of us working together to reach out goal!

As our community's college, MCC plays a vital role in changing the lives of students in our region. Pledge today to be entered into a drawing for the United Way Shining Star parking spot in Lot K at the Brighton Campus.
