Adjunct Faculty Workshops This Week @ Brighton & Downtown

Unemployment benefits for adjunct faculty

Tuesday, May 8, 3:00pm - 4:30pm, room 12-113, Brighton Campus

Do you know that you may be eligible for New York State unemployment compensation (up to $435/week) which you can receive during school breaks and other times when you are not teaching - for example, over the summer? Are you interested in learning more about when and how to apply? Joel Helfrich, MCC Adjunct Associate Professor in History will lead a discussion covering these and related topics from his experience with NYS unemployment benefits.

Contractual rights and benefits of MCC adjunct faculty

Wednesday, May 9, 12:00pm-1:00pm, room 412B, Downtown Campus

Jeffrey Baker, Adjunct Professor of Psychology and Diane Dinkins-Lourette, Adjunct Instructor of ESOL/ Transitional Studies, will lead a discussion about the adjunct faculty rights and benefits (union representation, promotion, retirement benefits, seniority, tuition waiver, multiple assignments, healthcare, etc.)

Please let Arseniy Gutnik, FA Coordinator, know if you plan to attend either workshop: agutnik@monroecc.edu
