Sociology Film Series at DCC Presents "Crash"

In recognition of MCC's Diversity Month, the Sociology Film Series at DCC presents "Crash" (2005), written and directed by Paul Haggis. To summarize the film: "This compelling urban thriller tracks the volatile intersection of a multiethnic cast of characters struggling to overcome their fears as they careen in and out of one another's lives. In the gray area between black and white, victim and aggressor, during the next 36 hours, they will all collide" (taken from the DVD jacket).

"Crash" stars Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Tony Danza, Matt Dillon, Jennifer Esposito, Brendan Fraser, Terrance Howard, Thandie Newton, Ryan Phillippe and Larenz Tate.  It should lead to a thought-provoking and powerful discussion of the cultural assumptions that surround race, ethnicity, social class and other sociological factors in the U.S., and the consequences that may arise from those assumptions.
