Director, Virtual Campus Candidate Meet and Greet Today

Please join us today, Thursday, August 7th, to welcome the fourth candidate for the position of Director, MCC Virtual Campus. Today's candidate is Gary Abernethy.

Gary Abernethy is currently the Dean of eLearning at Sinclair College where he provides leadership and direction to a 30 person team that supports faculty, staff, and students in the design and delivery of programs and course in all modalities. Prior to working at Sinclair College, Gary was an Executive Director at Lumen Learning where he consulted with higher education institutions with the adoption of open educational resources. Prior roles include serving as the Director of the Virtual College of Texas and as the Director of eLearning at Minneapolis Career and Technical College. Gary has also taught as an adjunct faculty at St. Petersburg College.

Gary earned a Master of Arts in Education from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in English from SUNY Albany. Gary has also completed a Higher Education Leadership Post Graduate Certificate from the University of Florida.

The Meet and Greet will take place in room 3-172 (across from the Print Shop) from 3:00-4:00pm.
