HSMI Terrorism Conference Open to MCC Faculty/Staff


MCC's Homeland Security Management Institute, in conjunction with the US Attorney’s Office, is sponsoring a conference entitled “Insights on Terrorism” on Monday, August 3, 2009 at the MCC Theatre, Bldg 4 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The main conference speaker, David Harel is a retired Israeli special agent who was head of international relations for the protection and security division of the Israeli Security Agency (ISA). He is a lecturer on homeland security studies at the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism and possesses years of experience in both intelligence assessment and risk management.

The conference will cover topics such as suicide terrorism, Israel’s experience combating terrorism and related democratic dilemmas, interviewing and questioning techniques for security, suspect identification and emergency preparedness.

There is no fee for the conference, however, there is a $10 optional fee should you desire lunch. Prospective attendees can register for the conference at the HSMI Web site
