The Second Shepherds' Play

On Friday, December 16, at 7:30 p.m., in the North Atrium at MCC's Brighton Campus, The Sixth Act is collaborating with MCC's music program to produce The Second Shepherds' Play--a spirited, comic departure from the traditional miracle play, and one of the most unusual adaptations of the Nativity scene to come out of the fifteenth century. All are invited to celebrate the holiday season with an original translation of this (in)famous play accompanied by Medieval and Renaissance music performed by the MCC Madrigal Singers (dressed in period costumes) and a consort of early music instrumentalists (playing on period instruments).

The event is free and open to the public, and no tickets are required.

This event is supported by the Creative Arts Committee, MCC's Music Program, The Sixth Act, the Visual and Performing Arts Department, Transitional Studies, and the English/Philosophy Department.

The Sixth Act aims to broaden and deepen an interdisciplinary appreciation of drama at MCC and in the city of Rochester. It is currently led by faculty members and students drawn from a variety of academic disciplines and departments.
