Honors student, Anna Price, presents in Albany

On February 29, 2012, MCC student Anna Price represented MCC’s Honors Program at Discovery: an Undergraduate Showcase at the state legislative building in Albany. The symposium is sponsored by the SUNY Faculty Senate. SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimphler kicked off the event with a welcome speech and elected officials, CUNY and SUNY Administrative leaders, CUNY and SUNY faculty, fellow students, and the general public were in attendance. Ms. Price, who attended with her faculty mentor Elizabeth Johnston, presented her poster project entitled, “'Wild Women Don’t Get the Blues': Angela Carter’s Feminist Re-interpretation of Little Red Riding Hood in 'The Company of Wolves.'” The project developed out of a paper written for Dr. Johnston’s Honors course, HMN 295: Female Icons in Popular Culture. Ms. Price will present a version of the paper at the Northeast Regional Honors Council Conference in Baltimore in April, and also hopes to present it at MCC’s Scholars Day and the Seneca Falls Dialogues undergraduate conference later this year.
