Diane Navarro (Instructional Technologies) led a public speaking and leadership (“speechcraft”) session for the League of Women Voters at Brighton Town Hall on Thursday evening, February 20. Because members of the League are often called upon to speak publically about issues facing citizens such as health care, immigration and voter access, they invited Navarro to introduce them to the benefits of Toastmasters membership. League membership turnout was high with many of the members being inspired to give their first ice breaker speech at the session.
Navarro is the founding president of the MCC Toastmasters Club and currently serves as its sergeant at arms. Fellow MCC Toastmasters Kendra Fee, Michael McDermott, Karen Frantz and Rosanna Condello also participated in the session.
