Undeliverable Emails to Purchasing Department General Email
Recently the Purchasing Department's general 'mailbox' associated with purchasing@monroecc.edu was upgraded by Technology Services to a 'shared' departmental mailbox. Since this upgrade, several College staff members have advised us that emails they sent to purchasing@monroecc.edu were returned as undeliverable.
Technology Services let us know this is a known problem associated with these upgrades and the fix is simple:
- If you have previously sent an e-mail to purchasing@monroecc.edu, you will need to clear the entry from your Outlook auto-complete cache.
- To clear the cache, begin composing a new message in Outlook and start typing in 'PURCHASING' until the auto-complete entry appears.
- Once you see it click the 'X' icon next to the entry.
- This will remove the broken entry from your cache.
- Then you can send an e-mail by typing the full address or selecting from the Global Address List the first time.
