Damon City Campus Fire Drills

In accordance with New York State Law, Monroe Community College must conduct fire drills each year. The Damon City Campus schedule for the Fall 2003 semester is as follows:

Damon City Campus

Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 10:50am
Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at 5:50pm

The purpose is to educate the college community on the proper method to exit the college buildings should an emergency arise. As fire drills are now announced in advance, please take the opportunity to discuss the schedule with others in your office and classroom.

Please remember that it takes a group effort to make a quick and safe evacuation of the building.

1. When exiting your classroom, walk to the nearest emergency exit. Precious time is wasted by walking to the center of the building. Listed below are the locations of emergency exits. Your classroom should also have a diagram of the nearest exit.

2. Emergency Assembly Areas are also located at the emergency exits. Emergency Assembly Areas provide an area of temporary refuge for persons with disabilities during an emergency or evacuation process. If you have a disability that will not allow you to walk down the emergency exit stairwells, stay at one of the below listed locations. Genesee Management Security will be checking each floor of the building and would notify emergency response personnel in the event of an actual emergency.
