Construction Fencing to be Erected at Midtown Site

The City of Rochester’s Communications Bureau issued the following motorist/pedestrian advisory that may affect people traveling to and from the Damon City Campus:

Installation of construction fencing at the Midtown Rochester Rising project will begin on November 3 at the corner of Atlas and Euclid streets and continue for two to three weeks until the perimeter of the 8.6-acre site is contained.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised of the following sidewalk and parking restrictions:

-- The sidewalk will be closed on the north side of Broad Street – between South Clinton Avenue and Chestnut Street.
-- The sidewalk will be closed on the west side of Euclid Street – from East Main to Atlas Street
-- A 14-foot wide pedestrian walkway will be maintained along the southern sidewalk of East Main Street – between Euclid Street and South Clinton Avenue.
-- A six-foot wide pedestrian walkway will be maintained along the eastern side of South Clinton Avenue – from East Main Street to Broad Street.
-- There will be no parking on Euclid Street for the remainder of this week.

Bus stops, bus shelters and crosswalks in the area will not be affected by the installation and will remain accessible. Signs will instruct pedestrians where to cross. Installation of the fencing is not expected to delay motorist traffic.
