Where are my Spring semester Zoom Cloud recordings?!

To ensure that we'll have enough space on the Zoom Cloud video storage for the coming semester, we've begun an automated process of backing up and removing recordings from the Spring Semester. This started a few days ago, and should be complete within the coming week. Because of this, you may find that you don't have access to Zoom recording links that you previously did.

What if I still need to use the recording?

If it's less than 30 days from when it was removed (approximately September 7th or earlier): it will still be available in the Trash area of the Zoom Cloud. To retrieve it from the Trash, go to https://monroecommunity.zoom.us, sign in using your monroecc email and password, click on Recordings on the left, click on Trash on the right, find the recording in the list, and click Recover. It will now be back at the same exact link that it was previously accessed through. Once you recover this recording from the Trash, it won't be swept up in other automated purge processes, and so we request that you manually delete it once you're done with it.

If it's more than 30 days: don't fear! We've backed up these files on a secondary drive, and so contact the Virtual Campus (jcase@monroecc.edu) and we can retrieve the file. It'll then need to be uploaded to some other service, such as our Ensemble videoserver, and the link at which folks will access the video will change, so you'll need to update any links to the video.

For any further questions about the purge process or Zoom Cloud storage in general, contact Jeremy Case (jcase@monroecc.edu) in the Virtual Campus. Thank you for embracing the use of the Zoom Cloud video storage for your class and meeting recordings, and for helping us to ensure that this service remains viable as we move forward!
