Accessible Textbooks
As we continue to support students remotely, please keep in mind the various barriers that all students may be experiencing. We strongly encourage all faculty/staff to keep an open mind in order to reduce obstacles and incorporate an inclusive approach, in order to benefit a wide range of learners.
Providing materials in accessible formats can be helpful for all students. Selecting textbooks that have an e-book and / or audio version accommodates a variety of learners with different reading abilities. When a student has access to an accessible digital textbook, they can read the textbook aloud through various reading software programs. Not to mention, many of our students are on-the-go and may benefit from a digital copy of the textbook. Accessible textbooks can improve access for all students regardless of their learning style.
We wish you all the best as we wrap-up the Spring 2020 semester and prepare for future semesters at MCC.
