Center for Urban Educational Studies Professional Development Session


Today, Thursday October 9, 2003 the Center for Urban Educational Studies is hosting our fourth professional development series session at the Damon City Campus.  This week's session is Conflict Resolution and Peer Mediation presented by Samson Olaode, Project Director for STAGE Program and Toni Robbins, Lecturer and Trainer for the STAGE Program.  This presentation will focus on mediation techniques and the prevention of violence on campus and in our classrooms.  Preventive intervention strategies, proactive approaches to problem solving, and listening skills will all be the topics of this interactive workshop.  Mr. Olaode and Ms. Robbins are certified conflict resolution and mediation trainers with certification from the University of Washington’s Conflict Resolution Unlimited (CRU) program.  The presentation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 in Room 5269.

Next Thursday, October 16, 2003, Maria Behncke from the Alliance for Quality Education will discuss Secondary School Funding: The Impact in Rochester.
