MCC is the host college for the national 2006/2007 League of Innovation Writing Contest. Thanks to ETS/Computing and Instructional Technologies, details are now available off the MCC home page at https://www.monroecc.edu/go/leaguelit/.
Of special interest to the college community may be the links off the “Judges” page; there you will find well-edited video clips of our judges reading their work and discussing their respective crafts with special emphasis on advice for beginning writers. Our judges are nationally recognized, local artists:

Submission guidelines are on the Web site. If any of your students are interested, they must submit entries first to the English/Philosophy Department contest (by March 23, 2007); those winners are then forwarded to the League contest and League winners will be announced by June 1, 2007. Angelique Stevens of the English/Philosophy department (262-1767) is the contact person for the department contest.
