GoldenEye Gala Shatters Records, Creates 47 Scholarships!

Three hundred guests entered the fictional world of James Bond at the Monroe Community College Foundation’s GoldenEye Gala, A Double-O Blowout on April 27 at the Country Club of Rochester.

The 15th annual gala shattered previous event records, raising more than $200,000 and creating 47 named scholarships to support student success at MCC. M&T Bank returned as the presenting sponsor for the eighth year in a row.

Under the leadership and generosity of Honorary Chairs Danny and Stency Wegman, and Dinner Chairs Duffy Palmer and Foundation Director Mark Siwiec, the gala became most successful event in Foundation history. Dixon Schwabl’s creative team built upon the James Bond theme by producing elegant print materials and conceptualizing the transformation of the Country Club of Rochester into a Casino Royale, villain’s lair and an alpine wonderland. MCC Alumni Hall of Fame member Charles Benoit ’84 greeted and entertained guests as fictional supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld from You Only Live Twice and other Bond films

Special thanks to all at MCC who participated in this year’s gala in support of MCC students.
