The Holocaust Genocide Studies Project and the MCC Libraries are proud to announce their collaboration on a new book discussion group. For our first book discussion, we will be reading A Woman in Berlin: Eight Weeks in the Conquered City by Anonymous. The book is available in the MCC Bookstore.
A Woman in Berlin tells the story of one young woman’s experiences in the Berlin of 1945, as the city fell to the invading Russians, through the journal she kept at the time. The story records her and her neighbors’struggle for survival as well as the mass rapes suffered by her and the other women in the city. It is a stark and harrowing testimony to the particular indignities suffered by women during wartime.
The book discussion will be held Monday, April 10, during College Hour (12:00 pm to 1:00 pm) in room 3-118. Please join us!
