Fresh Flowers Raise Funds and Hope

The Spanish Club of Monroe Community College is selling daffodils in support of the American Cancer Society's annual fundraiser, Daffodil Days. Orders will be taken in the second floor hallway of Building 1 (outside of the Admissions Office) on Tuesday, March 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Daffodil Days program supports the American Cancer Society's research, education, advocacy, and service programs. In 2002, volunteers delivered more than 46 million flowers and raised important financial support for the fight against cancer.

Orders for cut flowers will be sold for $7 each; potted daffodils will sell for $10. Orders may be paid by cash or check (made payable to the American Cancer Society). Daffodils can also be donated for distribution to hospitals, treatment centers, nursing homes, and to cancer patients--known as the Gift of Hope program. Gifts of Hope may be purchased for $20 each.

Flowers will be delivered the week of March 24, 2003.
