All About Open Education Week-Day 5!

Welcome to the last day of OpenEd Week 2020. (Give yourself a pat on the back if you've read each day's post!) Today's featured topic is open pedagogy. Check out the Open Pedagogy Notebook to learn about open pedagogy and see examples of student work. Also, watch this recording of a student panel and faculty as they talk about the effects open pedagogy had on their learning and teaching at Kwantlen Polytechnic University's (British Columbia, Canada) OpenEd Week celebration.

"Metaliteracy: Open Pedagogy and Wikipedia" features Professors Trudi Jacobson (SUNY Albany) and Christos Noutsos (SUNY Westbury) along with Helaine Blumenthal from Wiki Edu in discussing the use of Wikipedia editing and writing as an effect open pedagogical resource that supports metaliteracy and the acquisition of subject knowledge. Join the webinar at noon today.

OER @ MCC Fun Fact of the Day: Elizabeth Johnston, English Department, has been another of MCC's OER Champions. In addition to incorporating open pedagogy into her teaching, Elizabeth has converted all of her courses to open!
