MCC's Award Winning Model United Nations Program is back with much excitement

MCC’s Award Winning Model United Nations Program is back with much anticipated excitement.

Sadly, the coronavirus pandemic brought an abrupt end to the 2020 Model UN class simulation at MCC.  The in-person class and team building processes (the two main sources of bonding for most Model UN simulations both here and at other colleges) were taken away. Who could have predicted the pandemic would shut down the college and halt all activities throughout the country!

Fortunately, MCC’s awarding winning program is back and we are excited to invite students to apply to this year’s program.  Model UN is a very competitive program and it attracts students from all disciplines. This is why we are anxious to get the ball rolling. Students will earn:

  • Academic Credit (3.0 POS 234 or General Elective)
  • Students have to apply to the program
  • All expenses are paid for
  • Students will be in New York City for one week, attending the largest International conference in the US>
  • Students, we highly recommend that you look into this program. It can change your life and open doors for you. Model UN is framed around what we call the 3 Ls:
  • LEARNING:   It’s a fun way to learn about the world. In this era of globalization, being globally aware is more important than ever.

LEADERSHIP:     Model UN helps you develop leadership skills. It is an exercise in research, public speaking, critical thinking, foreign policy, diplomacy and teamwork. These are skills that you will need throughout your career.

LEVERAGE:   Students gain leverage through the Model UN experience, networking their way into the best colleges and universities and jobs.

  • ALL STUDENTS MUST ATTEND ONE INFORMATIONAL SESSION LISTED BELOW IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE PROGRAM. STUDENTS CAN PICK UP A BROCHURE/APPLICATION AT THE PRISM MULTICULTURAL CENTER (BUILDING 1 ROOM 108) STARTING WEDNESDAY SEPT. 15TH
