“Preparing Now to Care for Your Pets During Emergencies”


The Homeland Security Management Institute (HSMI) is co-sponsoring two training sessions with the Monroe County Office of Emergency Management and Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester on what to do with your animals in a disaster situation. Topics will include: Preparedness steps for pets, service animals, exotic pets and farm animals; Sheltering in Place versus Evacuation – How to Plan and What to Expect; An introduction to Pet First Aid; an Overview of Programs and Activities at Lollypop Farm.

This one-night training is being offered twice and is open to the public. There is no cost to attend. You can sign up for either date: Tuesday, April 30th or Wednesday, May 29th from 6:00 – 8:30 pm. There are 100 seats available for each session. American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services will be made available as needed. The training will be held at Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, 99 Victor Rd. Fairport, NY 14450.
