Attendance for second summer term


The reminders for the second summer session attendance deadlines have been distributed to all academic departments.  Please remember to submit your attendance through Banner self service in a timely manner.  Accurate attendance collection can save us many thousands of dollars by ensuring that we only distribute financial aid to students who qualify to receive funding.  Missing, incorrect or late attendance submissions result in lost revenue for the college.

Yes, attendance is a boring part of our jobs.  But the good news is that it is very easy to complete.  It should take about 5 minutes per roster to complete.  And the best news is that you can do it all from the comfort of your home through Banner self service.

FOUR EASY STEPS TO ATTENDANCE SUBMISSION:

Enter a 1 in the ‘Attend Hours’ field for every student attending your course.  If you have thirty students enrolled and all are participating, then enter a 1 in every record.  (Yes, this is a change from previous terms.  Every student record needs an attendance code)

Is a student never attended the course, enter 0 in the ‘Attend Hours’ field.

If a student stopped attending on or before the census date (noted in your individual memo), enter the last date of attendance in the ‘Last Attend Date’ field.  Use a MMDDYYYY format when entering this date.

If you choose to enter a withdrawal (W grade), be sure to also enter a last date of attendance in the ‘Last Attend Date’ field.  Pay special attention to the withdrawal deadline date (noted in your individual memo) because students in attendance beyond this date do not qualify for a ‘W’ grade.

Then click submit to complete the process.
