Spring E-recycling!

Electronic, or e-recycling, prevents harmful chemicals, such as lead, cadmium, and copper from leaching out of landfills and into groundwater, soils, and surface water.  It also recycles and re-uses plastic and metal components in refurbished electronics and other products.

The Geosciences Association in conjunction with RCR&R will be holding an electronic recycling event on Friday, April 20th in parking lot M1 from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.  Several items can be recycled at this event, including:
  • Computers/laptops
  • Printers, Mice, Keyboards
  • Monitors (CRTs) all sizes
  • Televisions
  • Copiers, Typewriters, Fax machines
  • Cellular Phones, Pagers, Audio and Visual Equipment
  • Telephone Equipment
  • Laboratory Equipment
  • Circuit Boards (any kind)
  • Cables/Wire

Items not accepted include refrigerators, other kitchen appliances, hazardous or radioactive materials, and mercury-containing devices.  Please see the attached flyer for more information!

Donations from this event will benefit the Geosciences Association in future programming and field trips.  The Geosciences Association is dedicated to learning and teaching about geology, geography, and sustainability.  The student club participates in local environmental restoration events, community service, and educational field trips.
