Past, Present and Future Project Plans

As we all know, Summer here at MCC for any Facilities Department is crunch time. While traffic is slow, our work load picks up. Here, we want to take this time to give the College Community a heads up on what we are doing, and plan on doing from our corner of the campus in Building Services.

Building 9, first floor classrooms are getting fresh new wax and carpeting is being cleaned. These projects will be wrapping up this week. Our next plan of attack will be Building 7 (All floors), and Buildings 6 and 10 as well as 9 (Wolk), and 9A.

On the opposite side of the College, some may have noticed that we are stripping down years old wax from the first floor of Building 5. The plan is to continue to produce more stone finishing throughout the campus. For that, we must first take off the old finish and follow a certain process to bring the "natural" floor shine out of the stone. If you're curious to see what it looks like, head on over to the first floor of Building 6. That is the natural shine, no wax!

The hallways in the two towers (Buildings 5 & 8) VCT tiles have been completed as well. Those floors were overdue and now look stunning. That is our plan here in Building Services. We have a crew dedicated to making the campus sparkle. So, keep your eyes focused at your feet and also look for that yearly Gym floor project coming up August 11th and 12th.

Thanks everybody and enjoy your day!
