New "Finds" from MCC's Bittner Archaeological Site on Display

Since 1973, MCC students have been recovering the remains of a 19th and early 20th century farm located on MCC's Brighton Campus. We have sponsored an archaeological field school since 2003. Two cases on the 2nd floor of Building 5 display some of the recently-retrieved artifacts along with photographs and a reconstruction of part of the "dig."  The artifacts illustrate daily life in the 1800s, including eating and drinking, toys and games and early medicine. The dig will continue July 10-25, 2006.

Interested students, and others are encouraged to sign up for ANT 205 in the second summer session. There will also be an open house day for the public scheduled for Monday, July 24 from 10 am-1pm. Join us for one of these occasions and be a part of helping to uncover MCC's history!
