Todd Korol: Outstanding WAC Faculty Award Winner

The Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Committee is pleased to recognize Todd Korol, assistant professor of business administration, for the 2007-08 Outstanding WAC Faculty Award. Now in its seventh year, the award honors individual faculty members who have made a significant contribution to the development of WAC at MCC.

Todd has been teaching Writing-Intensive (WR) classes at MCC since he began his tenure-track position in Fall 2002. Since then, “Consumer Behavior” (MAR 210), “Principles of Marketing” (MAR 101), “Introduction to Business” (BUS 104), “Management Theory and Practice” (BUS 204) and “Organizational Behavior” (BUS 208) have became important staples of the College’s WR course offerings. Like many WR instructors, Professor Korol believes, “Writing allows students the opportunity to justify and defend their opinions, as well as critique and criticize. As a teacher, it allows me to really assess the deeper levels of learning—such as analysis, evaluation, and application—that other testing and assessment methods do not.”

The success of WAC is due in part to the faculty who design their courses to be Writing Intensive. Their dedication and devotion help sustain our efforts to keep WAC thriving at MCC.
