DHS Informational Session

The MCC Counseling Center and Veterans Services are pleased to announce that MCC, in partnership with DHS, will be presenting and sponsoring a DHS training at MCC.

The Monroe County Department of Human Services is a complex agency that may present challenges to those in the community who are working with individuals in need of DHS services.  Recognizing the potential for difficulties and the value of information, DHS will be presenting "DHS 101." This informative, interactive session will provide an opportunity to learn about DHS policies and procedures including:

*         Application Process

*         Emergency Assistance

*         Diversion Benefits

*         SNAP

*         Day Care

*         Employment Requirements

*         Work-First Philosophy

*         Results of Non-Compliance with Program Eligibility Requirements, such as Case Denials and Sanctions

After attending this session, our community partners will have a greater understanding of DHS policies, procedures and helpful tools to assist clients through the process when needed.

Date: Wednesday, May 25th
Time: 1 - 4 p.m.
