Dual Enrollment "Superstars" are Announced

The following high school teachers have been named 2019 Superstar Teachers:

  • Mark Moon, Spencerport High School. Nominated by Christopher Biehler
  • Gina Lord, BOCES1 in Fairport. Nominated by Cristin Finch
  • David Howlett, Gates-Chili High School. Nominated by Bill Drumright
  • Cynthia Connor, Spencerport High School. Nominated by Binh-Yen Nguyen
  • James Thomas, Irondequoit High School. Nominated by Valerie Couderc and Eileen Radigan
  • Steven Mascari, Irondequoit High School. Nominated by Gary Graziano
  • Stacey Riordan, Greece Arcadia. Nominated by Rita Straubhaar

MCC Faculty were able to nominate high school teachers with whom they have worked closely in the 18-19 school year. In general, faculty often note how high school teachers go above and beyond for their students. These Superstars, however, stood out as "notable", "innovative", "brilliant", "engaged" and "enthusiastic". Superstar teachers will receive a certificate and gift from Dual Enrollment (delivered by their nominator) and with their permission a letter is mailed to their high school principal.

The connection between MCC faculty and high school teachers is a hallmark of MCC Dual Enrollment and a key reason why our program is so successful. A special thank you to the MCC faculty who wrote such heartfelt nominations for these teachers.
