College Update on COVID-19 Testing Efforts & Cases

Out of the 1,315 COVID-19 pooled tests MCC conducted last week, 3 positive cases of were identified. Thank you for everyone’s patience and good work as we adjusted our sample labeling process. Test results are available in the SUNY Upstate Medical site.

Currently:

  • 0 students are isolating on campus.
  • 13 students are isolating off campus.
  • 14 students are in mandatory quarantine off campus.

MCC Testing Stats to Date:

  • 18,278 completed COVID-19 pooled tests
  • 34 total cases identified among students and employees through pooled testing.
  • 0.19% positivity rate.

This week, mandatory pooled (saliva) testing sessions will be held 2:30-6:30 p.m. today, April 6 and 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 7 in the Flynn Campus Center on the Brighton Campus.No appointment necessary. 

More changes in pooled testing processes are anticipated. We will keep you posted following SUNY confirmation.
