Academic Testing with Accommodations: Updates for Fall 2021

 

Welcome back to campus! 

There have been many changes in Testing Services since March 2020.

For fall 2021, Testing Services will continue to proctor in-person, academic testing for students with documented disabilities. However, all accommodated, proctored testing will be scheduled to take place during our testing hours:

  • Mondays: 9 am - 2 pm
  • Tuesdays: 9 am - 2 pm
  • Wednesdays: noon - 5 pm
  • Thursdays: noon - 5 pm

This is a different model from what we had pre-pandemic. Students may need to schedule their accommodated tests at a time that does not coincide with the time their class is held.

We encourage students to schedule their accommodated test(s) with Testing Services with as much advance notice as possible. It is always the student's responsibility to schedule their test(s) in advance.

Below are the steps for scheduling an accommodated test:

  1. The student contacts Testing Services via email (testing@monroecc.edu), phone (585-292-2290), or in person during our walk-in hours (listed above).
  2. The student schedules their test(s) with Testing Services staff.
  3. The student informs their professor of the date(s) and time(s) of the testing appointment(s).
  4. The professor provides Testing Services staff with the exam(s) prior to the scheduled test time(s). Professors can either submit their test(s) using the traditional testing envelopes (white with red print), or they can submit their test(s) electronically via RegisterBlast. Instructions for electronic submission are attached to this announcement. A copy of the cover sheet from the traditional testing envelopes is also attached.

Please note that Testing Services will be requiring masking at all times in the center, as per MCC guidelines.
