Author Leslie Youngblood To Be a "Human Book" at the MCC Human Books Event on May 1

Leslie Youngblood, author of Love Like Sky will be a "Human Book" at the MCC Human Books Event on Wednesday, May 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the LeRoy V. Good Library at the Brighton campus.

Youngblood will share her journey to getting a book deal with Disney Books. She writes, "Publishing a book is a difficult journey for any writer, regardless of genre. To defy the odds and land a two-novel deal with one of the largest publishers in the world requires perseverance. For a local, mature African American woman to accomplish that--well, it's a story not many can tell. I'm honored to be among those who can. Come share the ups and downs of traditional publishing with me, and learn about the real deal behind a book deal."

Copies of Love Like Sky will be available for purchase at the event.

The Human Books Event is a series of conversations rather than presentations. To schedule time to talk with Leslie Youngblood, visit: https://libguides.monroecc.edu/humanbooks
