Please join us for a very special Sociology Film Series Event: A Screening of ‘”The John Lennon Assassination” and a CD Listening & Learning Event
In commemoration, this very special Sociology Film Series will feature the 1996 documentary, The Assassination of John Lennon. Following the film, we will discuss the story-line lyrics and music of “Stay Human” (2001), a groundbreaking CD by Michael Franti & Spearhead that is set to the fictitious story of Sister Fatimah, a community activist on death row for a murder she did not commit. We will explore issues of capital punishment, incarceration, racism, sexism, homophobia, media literacy & more.
