Register Today! Essential Discussions -- Title IX: Building a Culture of Inclusion & Shared Responsibility

I am pleased to invite you to register for “Title IX: Building a Culture of Inclusion and Shared Responsibility” <https://www.monroecc.edu/events/title-ix/>  – the seventh event in our Essential Discussions: Conversations at Monroe Community College series. The Essential Discussions series explores topics that are shaping the postsecondary agenda.

MCC will host this day-long colloquium on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. It will provide opportunities to participate in conversations about engaging the campus and broader community in sexual violence prevention and ensuring that our response to survivors is supportive and inclusive. The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at MCC’s Brighton Campus in the Theatre.

Keynote speakers include Michele Jawando, J.D., attorney and social justice advocate, who currently serves as the Vice President for Legal Progress at the Center for American Progress. The afternoon session will feature Gary B. Kelly, Technical Lieutenant of the New York State Police, Campus Sexual Assault Victims Unit and the Special Victims Unit. Panelists will be announced soon and include representatives from law enforcement, community partners, and SUNY.
