Volunteer Month Spotlight -- Isaiah House

I volunteer at Isaiah House, home for the dying. Isaiah House is a non-profit home with two beds for dying residents who have less than 3 months to live. I am also on the Board of Directors and coordinate the annual Ice Cream Social fundraiser.

As a volunteer, I help care for people who are terminally ill and their families. We practice the Hospice philosophy of dying in providing comfort care.  In addition to doing personal care, volunteers sit and talk with the dying resident and their families. You really gain an amazing prospective on what matters in life and what is important by sitting with someone who is dying. This experience has changed my life and how I look at life forever. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can contact me at x2224.
