<p>An opportunity to reflect on the things that distract one in life, and strategies on how to minimize the distractions and become more productive while you work from home. Although designed for the current work situation, the information provided equally pertains to working on campus.</p>

<p>III. ASSESSING YOUR CAREER DURING UNCERTAIN TIMES</p>
<p>This four-part series will provide attendees an opportunity to look deeply into their career, take advantage of this work-from-home period, and ensure that their future positions remain fulfilling. The sessions are independent of each other, so you can attend one or more of them.</p>

<p>This panel of college experts will discuss ways to improve your physical and emotional well-being. This session is especially timely with the current social and economic events.</p>

<p>Join Anne Hughes from the Career Development Center as we review the power of Linked-In for career enhancement and professional development.</p>

<p>No matter what position each employee holds, leadership skills enhance our abilities to be more effective. Join us for a panel of influencers who will share ideas on how to increase one's influence at MCC and beyond.</p>

<p>D. FIVE PRINCIPLES TO GOVERN YOUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE</p>
<p>This presentation will cover guiding principles that are applicable to all careers. Even if you plan to remain in your current position until retirement, this session will provide ideas and information to enhance your current role.</p>

<p>IV. FINANCIAL FIRESIDE ZOOM CHATS</p>
<p>These informative presentations will review current market conditions and provide historical perspectives for this challenging economic period. The program is presented by financial educator from VOYA, Gary Witten, and the sessions are designed for all employees from those just starting their careers to those preparing for retirement. Each workshop will cover different areas, but employees are welcome to ask any questions related to the SUNY financial benefits and their own interests.</p>
<p>A. RETURN ON LIFE</p>
<p>During this Zoom seminar, Gary will introduce the VOYA return in life meter, which explores aspects of life that provide each of us happiness and fulfillment. This session focuses more on aspects of life and retirement that are non-financial in nature. The program is for all ages and stages of careers.</p>

<p>B. FINANCIAL WELLNESS WORKSHOP</p>
<p>In this session, Gary will review key areas to focus on to enhance one's financial wellness.</p>

<p>V. EFFECTIVE ZOOM MEETING FACILITATION</p>
<p>Each employee has transitioned to working from home and the ubiquitous Zoom meetings. While the technology makes virtual meetings possible, the mode of communication can also prolong meetings and increase disengagement. Julianna Frisch will co-host this session and provide insights and tactics on how to make Zoom meetings more efficient, effective, engaging, and enjoyable. Although designed for the Zoom meeting, this presentation offers sounds advice for all meetings.</p>

<p>VI. HUMOR IN THE WORKPLACE</p>
<p>This special presentation was featured during the faculty professional development week, and it received excellent reviews. Join fellow MCC employees in this program that reveals the demonstrable positive impact of embedding humor in the workplace.</p>

<p>VII. CHANGE MANAGEMENT WEBINAR</p>
<p>Ithaca College Chief Financial Officer Bill Guerrero and Wilson Foundation Director of Programming Junior Dillion will be our special guests for this webinar that was presented to the area consortium for human resources professionals. The presentation provides insights and recommendations for institutions to prepare for the fall semester and take advantage of this changing environment to foster innovation and discovery.</p>

Summer Professional Development Series Continues

Greetings and happy mid-summer to all. This month total employee attendance at the Student Services summer zoom professional development series sessions has exceeded 500, so we are adding new workshops and repeating a few of the higher-attended ones. The programs are designed to enhance a sense of community, increase engagement levels, and further develop individual skills. The sessions also provide the opportunity for each of us to reflect on our career paths and contemplate future direction. We hope that you will find some time in your busy schedules to further your professional development by attending one or more of the following sessions listed below.
