Tillinghast Named to MCC Board of Trustees


Last night, the Monroe County Legislature named Grace S. Tillinghast to the MCC Board of Trustees. She will serve through June 30, 2013, filling the term left vacant by the passing of Richard M. Guon.

Tillinghast is a native of Argentina and a resident of the Rochester community for nearly four decades. Through the years, she has been involved in a number of local, national and international initiatives. Fluent in five languages, she has lectured and published in the U.S. and abroad about the use and abuse of the Spanish language.

For 16 years Tillinghast was the co-host and co-producer of “Que Pasa,” a WXXI television program.

She is retired from Eastman Kodak Company, where she managed Community Affairs and Contributions, Communications and Public Affairs until 2007. She currently is co-owner of The Battery, a baseball and softball training facility in Gates.

Tillinghast’s education includes certification in elementary and secondary education from Tomas Godoy Cruz Teachers’ College; certification in English, University of Michigan; certification in Italian, Dante Alighieri Institute; and certification in corporate community relations, Boston College School of Management.
