AAWCC Go Red Wellness Week Tip #1

Adopting a healthy lifestyle, even in middle age, can have an important impact on preventing cardiovascular disease and extending one’s life.

Recommended lifestyle changes to help manage blood pressure include weight control, increased physical activity, alcohol moderation, sodium restriction and an emphasis on eating fresh fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products

AAWCC at MCC Healthy Tip: Make a commitment to improving your health today!  Increase physical activity one step at a time by taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking at the far end of the parking lot/garage and enjoying a brisk walk into work. Each step you take counts on the road to a healthier you.

Join us at the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) Stress Relief Retreat and Wellness Fair on February 8th in the Gilman Lounge from 1:30– 3:30pm and learn about the indoor walking route developed by Brighton Campus walkers.

Donations are still being accepted to support the AAWCC/American Heart Association Go Red Campaign. Please mail checks, made payable to the American Heart Association, to Julianna Frisch in Campus Events.
