President's Wednesday Message

Welcome to Fall 2016! This week’s message will be a short one given all that’s happening in and out of the classroom with the return of our students. More than anything else, I really want to thank each of you—in advance—for all you will do to help our students learn, grow, discover, and succeed. The work you do is rarely easy, but it is essential for our students. Thank you!

I also want to thank you for embracing a spirit of innovation. This year, your vision for how to support our students on their path to completion has yielded a bounty of riches: the Schools at MCC, Single Stop, Dreamkeepers, the PRISM Center, Starfish, Learning Communities, Library 3D Print on Demand, the Eastman Business Center Mechatronics pilot, this year’s common read Spare Parts, Shared Leadership Coordinating Council, the planning for another amazing Scholars’ Day, and so much more. Thank you!

Finally, I want to thank you for taking up the challenge to Make our College a Community. Since All College Day, you have reached out with ideas for building stronger connections with your colleagues and making new ones … ideas that you’re moving into action. Thank you!

This is truly the best time of the year for everyone in education—it is our own new year’s celebration. So, again, welcome to Fall 2016!
