File Early for Financial Aid

As Financial Aid Awareness Week continues, the Financial Aid Staff would like to remind the MCC faculty, as well the students, of the importance of applying early for financial aid.

By filing the financial aid applications early, students can:
- Reduce the chance of having to stand in line at the FAO in July or August.
- Increase the chance of receiving limited forms of aid, such as the SEOG Grant, Federal Work-Study Award, APTS, and MCC Scholarships.
- Increase the probability of having their tuition and fees deferred when they receive their bill.

Here are a few reminders to start the process:
- File on-line at HYPERLINK "https://www.fafsa.ed.gov" www.fafsa.ed.gov, it is easier and faster.
- Remember your Federal Financial Aid PIN.
- Keep copies of all of your 2002 income and tax documents.
- Respond to requests for additional information and documents as quickly as possible.

Also remember that the Financial Aid Office staff is here to answer any questions you may have regarding the financial aid application process.
