Sociology Film Series at DCC presents North Country


The Sociology Film Series at DCC presents its first film for the spring 2006 semester, North Country (2005 - rated R), in recognition of Women's History Month.  Directed by Niki Caro, this film is a "fictionalized account of the first major successful sexual harassment case" in the U.S., Jenson v. Eveleth Mines, and it stars Charlize Theron as "a woman who endured a range of abuse while working as a miner, filed and won this landmark 1984 lawsuit" (portions taken from "https://www.amazon.com"www.amazon.com and the DVD jacket).
