HSMI to partner with Skills that Serve Program in Virginia

Skills that Serve offers classes in Disaster and Emergency Preparedness. The program is dedicated to teaching skills, particularly emergency preparedness and disaster response and recovery skills, which enable you to serve your community. These vocational, safety, and life skills classes are of benefit to disaster response organizations, groups sponsoring or preparing for mission trips, those who serve in disaster response or recovery efforts, and those simply wanting to be better prepared to deal with emergencies.  In 2008, Skills that Serve through a special arrangement with HSMI will offer a series of six one-day tuition free training programs – one each month beginning in June each centered on a particular theme of disaster preparedness, emergency response, and or community service.  For additional information and or registration visit the HSMI website <<https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/hsmi/>> or contact Sheila Manns at 753-3921.
