All About Open Education Week-Day 2!

Want to learn more about how to develop an open textbook for your course? Or, find some ready-to-use, freely available, open materials? Check out open content in Mathematics, Engineering, Humanities, Physics, and more via LibreTexts. From their website: "The LibreTexts mission is to unite students, faculty and scholars in a cooperative effort to develop an easy-to-use online platform for the construction, customization, and dissemination of open educational resources (OER) to reduce the burdens of unreasonable textbook costs to our students and society."

LibreTexts is offering webinars for OpenEd Week, including one today from 11:00-12:00 featuring MCC's Paul Seeburger co-presenting "Using the LibreTexts Platform to Create Interactive OER Textbooks for Math and Statistics." He will be discussing using the LibreTexts platform to customize OpenStax textbooks for Elementary and Intermediate Algebra, Elementary Statistics, and Calculus II and III.

OER @ MCC Fun Fact of the Day: Due to courses that have made a switch to OER usage, and OER Champions like Paul, the overall total of student savings at MCC is over $2 million!
