Fall 2007 Census-Based Attendance Collection

The Fall 2007 attendance memos have been sent to ALL department offices to be distributed to their faculty. You may start submitting attendance In Banner Self-Service immediately.  Attendance collection is due by TUESDAY, October 2, 2007.   Please remember that we are mandated to collect census-based attendance for every course taught at Monroe Community College.  Late or missing attendance literally costs the college tens of thousands of dollars every term, so please submit your attendance accurately and on time.  Faculty can enter their attendance in Banner Self Service by selecting the menu item "Attendance, Withdrawal and Final Grades” from the Faculty Services Menu.

Enter attendance for EVERY student in the course using the following steps:

1.   Enter a '1' in the 'Attend Hours' field for every student attending the course.  (This is a change from previous terms!  Every student record needs an attendance code.)

2. Enter a ‘0’ in the ‘Attend Hours’ field for every student who has never attended the course.  If a student stopped attending on or before the census date (9/24/2007 census for full term courses), enter the last date of attendance in the ‘Last Attend Date’ field.  Use a MMDDYYYY format when entering the date.

3. Click submit to complete the process.

4. Please go back in the roster and check your work.  The data you just entered should be there.  If it is blank, you have incorrectly entered the data.

The R&R office will send you an e-mail informing you when your attendance has been successfully entered.  These e-mails will be sent daily, so please do not expect an e-mail the moment you hit the submit button.  (We are not quite that proficient yet … but we are getting there!)

Please do not miss these deadlines.  As you know, we are required to notify the department chair, Dean and Academic Vice President when the attendance data is late, so we’d appreciate your help in completing this task on time

Feel free to contact the Registration and Records Office at 292-2300, extension 0 if you have further questions.

If you made a mistake on your attendance or would like to change the data, please e-mail me at <mailto:vtoth@monroecc.edu>
or Lori DeWaters at <mailto:ldewaters@monroecc.edu>.  We can also be reached by e-mail at: <mailto:registrationoffice@monroecc.edu> .

Thanks.
