This past weekend the MCC athletic teams opened up their seasons. The women
and men's soccer teams played their first two games in Arizona this past
weekend. The Lady Tribunes played their first game against San Diego Mesa
College and defeated them 3-1. The following day they played Mesa Community
College and suffered a tough 3-1 loss. This marked the first regular season
loss in three years. The Lady Tribunes will play their first home game this
Saturday, Sept. 7 at 1:00 P.M. against Holyoke Community College.
The men's soccer team finished the weekend 0-1-1. Their first game was a 2-2
tie against the host team Mesa. On Sunday, the Tribunes played South Mountain
Community College and lost 1-0. The men play their first home game Sept.
14 against Erie at 2:00 P.M.
The women's volleyball team opened up its season at the Corning Classic Tournament in
which they lost in the semifinals to Broome. On Sept. 3 they played Erie
Community College, defeating them 3-1. The Lady Tribunes are 4-2 and will
play their first home game against Genesee on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7:00
P.M.
