MCC's Denise Thomas Accepted Into Prestigious SUNY Leadership Program

Please join Associate Vice President, Kimberley Collins, and myself in congratulating Monroe Community College's Academic Services/EDIWS Senior Budget Specialist Denise Thomas on her acceptance into the State University Of New York (SUNY) SAIL Institute's prestigious 2020 Business Officers' Leadership Academy. Thomas was also offered a full scholarship to participate in the academy.

"It is an honor to have been nominated and selected for this leadership academy. This is the first year that SAIL has selected protégés from community colleges for this particular institute and I am one of three representatives," Thomas said. "The program will provide me with leadership skills, a deeper understanding and better use of data and exposure to resources throughout the SUNY system which will benefit MCC and our students."

The five month-long academy includes eight learning events and concludes with a full-day capstone/graduation event where participants present their applied learning projects.

SUNY SAIL - Strategic Academy Innovative Leadership - was established in 2016 to create a stronger leadership pipeline within SUNY and grounded on the concept that colleges and universities require leaders who are not only strategic and innovative but also have an understanding of the special nature of the academic core of the institutions they serve.
