Students, Faculty, Administrators Pitch in for Brighton's Clean Sweep

MCC proudly brought a hands-on team to the Town of Brighton’s first Clean Sweep Saturday, April 26.

Students Elli Kuhn, Ashley Yost, Chuck Theis, Adam Bakett, and Matt Lawson worked alongside Associate Professor of Business Administration and Student Government Advisor Joe McCauley to pick up trash and debris along Winton Road. Professor of Business Administration Karen Morris, Instructor of Transitional Studies Julie Damerall, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychology Dorothy Donaldson, her husband Tom Richey, and Assistant to the President Cynthia Cooper worked on South Clinton Avenue.

The impact of the clean-up efforts was immediately noticeable and gratifying. And what fun to work together as an MCC team! The Town of Brighton was thrilled with about 500 volunteers. In the photo below, Brighton Town Supervisor thanks MCC team representatives Damerall, Morris and Cooper.

There’s still time to be part of the MCC Clean Sweep team this spring. Our second Clean Sweep will be on Saturday, May 31, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. – this time with the City of Rochester. Please pitch in and help out. To register yourself, your friends and family, just email HYPERLINK "mailto:ccooper@monroecc.edu"ccooper@monroecc.edu.

Hope to see you there.
